Hi Everyone!

There are times when you intend to spend a hundred bucks but end up spending a few thousands!

This is what happened to me last week. I usually was my car at a local car wash. Apparently, this was closed due to the staff not returned from easter holidays. I did search for alternatives but in vain. This was when I recalled seeing Sparkle Car Spa at the Forum, Bangalore.

On reaching Sparkle Car Spa (1st Floor, The Forum, Koramangala), I was shown the various treatments they offer and the pricing. I was initially considering only an external wash till they showed me a demo.

I then chose the combination of paint protection, polishing and waxing. A total cost of INR 2500/-!

They started with the external wash. They had to use the hand sprayers as the mall did not have taps and using a jet spray gun would spray water everywhere and the water may not drain well. 2-3 staff members started with the external wash. Once this was over, they smeared the car with the paint protection paste and then began the buffing process with the machine.

This gave the paint some contrast and shine.

The next step was to wax the car and finally apply the polish and buff.

The end result was very good! The paint was given a wet look with an excellent gloss! Minor scratches, swirl marks etc had completely gone! They also treated the plastic and rubber parts, including tyres.

The car looked as good as new.

I'm not sure of what chemicals they were using though they claim from 3M.

Overall, I am happy with the result as compared to the 3M treatment obtained from the showroom, which had lesser gloss. Above all, they only gave a single coat as opposed to three coats over here.

With such quality of service, I would suggest this place as an alternative to 3M.

Is the cost applicable only for innova? Any idea whats the cost for smaller cars?

I checked the products that they use, it is all local substandard stuff .
so i don't think the price is justified at all.
3m stores offer better service and use genuine products

Used their services for Windshield polish / scratch removal.

Dont know about the materials used, but looked like a general purpose rubbing compound in a liquid form.

Used a buffing wheel along with a liberal application of the paste and water to buff and clean the windshield.

To my eye, in daylight, 80% of the scratches have been removed. will know the real effect tonight in the dark, with headlights coming from the opposite side.

Costed 1092 incl. taxes.

Does 3M have similar glass polish service ?

Went there this Sunday. They have an awesome service -- full exterior cleaning costs 250.

Do they have an outlet or are they only available in the malls? Please confirm on the locations if any of you have used the service recently in Bangalore. I have some swirl marks on the windscreen and would like to get it removed or reduced.

I got the ac vent cleaning (or ac neutralising as they call it) done at their Mantri mall outlet about a year back. Fairly substandard job and I never went back there. The Forum outlet seems to be more competent.

Have the scratches
gone down after the polishing. I also seem to have accumulated a lot of small scratches on my car's windshield. Let me know if there is any difference after polishing.

YEs the scratches are 80% gone. depending on how deep the scratch is. You may also want to check with the 3M detailing centers if they can do the windshield polish.

Yes, 3M will do the windshield polishing. Apart from that they also sell the polishing agent at a cost between Rs.600.00 - Rs.700.00. Last Saturday only I have visited 3M detailing center in Chennai for under body treatment of my car and have seen this info,
