Here is one I spotted in Bombay last year. Dont ask me where, I havent a clue. The only reason I took the photo was that I thought one of these with the 'Jeep' script should be rare by now.

very simple call up "Acme Refrigeration company" and ask them if they want to sel the scrap in their yard:D
ACME refrigeration is in Bandra. They have the same business in Goa too. If you know someone who visits the Bandra Gymkana regularly, ask him or her to introduce you to the ACME guys.
Hi friends,
I had been to Jawadhi Hills in TV malai district. Its an ultimate OTR track. Its cut from developments. Its tribal belt. I went to the PHC ithere. I saw few Mahindra 4x4 vans. It was being used as ambulance services. I am attaching 2 pics. Please do free to comment on it.
In Bangalore all the old Mahindra FC Fire Department vans are 4x4.
They look brilliant in Red. Would love to know when they will be up on an auction.
Sorry that hardly know anything about the FC trucks. Are their wheel base is same as 540, I know that they have wider track since I have seen people using them in MM5x0. Are 4x4 FC are really very rare to find?? If yes than from where do the people get the front exel of FC for their MM5x0s..
FC were mostly used by government institutions.
In Darjeeling there are couple of them still used by Darjeeling Police. one pickup which now carries water with sintex fitted at back is still in good shape.
But yes most of them are in very bad shape, and i think all of them came with Inter Engine.

This is FC 460 DP. This vehicle came with two engines, Simpsons p4 and XDP 4.90 engine. With XDP 4.90 the rear axle ratio is 5.8:1.
There are plenty doing duty here in tamil nadu in 2wd form and they refuse to die. In dhanuskodi in 4x4 form they even carry people on beach.
This makes a good platform for caravan provided you change the engine and gearbox to 5 speed so that highway cruise ability is good

You read my mind bro!! I have dream to make a caravan for myself, but I have to wait for a few years.
Just to revive this thread which has been lying idle for sometime, i thought of igniting few minds with these two pictures attached. This should make a good off-roader if not, good to show off at least.
What say FC- Fans?
Regards,
This reminds me of the Dhanuskodi trip had on 2008.
Hello All,
Uday Bhan Singh Sir has one of these here in Calcutta ( seen here during an OTR ).
Presently it is in Delhi as part of the support group for the K2K run.
There's one in my home town Ooty that belongs to my friend's dad (Who happens to own a garage). The vehicle happens to be a 64 model (not too sure about the year) and is in pretty good condition with 4-wheel drive workingclap: My friend's dad rents it out as a hearse :D
PS: Sorry, no pics right now.
