The issue is i cant get away with it, because the moment they see my driving licence they will see I live in Delhi. but I will look into the complications as well.

Currently, it's running on 15 inch aftermarket alloys and Yokohama A/T Tyres. Will upload clear pictures again.

Delhi/NCR Police and the 10-year diesel rule - A lot of it crossed me when I was going to buy it, and all sense advised against it, but I went for it anyway (Maybe its the first jeep I fell in love with as a child, its rarity and cool factor, the list is endless) but yes I had to have it. I drove it back to Delhi from the Mumbai expressway and snuck into Dwarka where I stay at around 4 Am in the morning so that time there were no issues by cops. I then drove it around for a few days locally and there's not a lot of cops here. However to my luck, when I was taking it to Mayapuri I did not encounter a single cop.


No what to do for its legality status? Presently it's running a Goa number and has fitness till 2026, pollution, insurance and everything is in order so I am thinking of retaining the same. However, another thought I have been tinkering with recently is to play some tricks and see if I can get a vintage number on this car, if that can work out then I can drive it in Delhi no worries. This is not going to be my daily driver anyway as Delhi heat and traffic are a deadly combo for this jeep. it is going to be a night-driving vehicle and to be used for weekend offroading and some cross-country trips. Planning another from Kochi to Delhi on this in November.

Vintage number I recommend don’t go for it right now. It has a lot of restrictions on use of the Jeep. Do read about it in the portal

You may not need to fabricate it just hold on ill find you someone who can do you one better. I will send you clear pictures tomorrow. i have been crazy busy with court hearings, and the restoration process of both my scooter and the jeep. Realisations I have across while restoring this classic, which may also help differentiate CJ340 from a CL340DP Classic : -

1.) Double Gauge Diesel tank on the Classic (One for meter Reading, one for Reserve)

2.) L shaped body bend for placing legs of the rear seat in the classic

3.) Narrow fender indicators not found on any other M&M Jeep. Sourced one luckily and it was the last piece.

Advice for Spare Parts:-

1.) No one keeps them anymore, and the old people who used to are rarely helpful. The guy at Atlas Motors, was not only extremely uninterested but borderline rude. So that's an Out

2.) I had to source these lights and fender lights from 4 shops in Kashmere Gate Delhi, i.e. Ujjagar Singh & Co., Bhargava Motors, Krishna Motors,etc. these are all old Mahindra Dealers, who had some left over spares and provided them.

looking around but it's tough. My spare needs are a bit too niche. For example, I am trying to reactivate all the dash lights. So on opening the 4wd lever, we realised the 2 4wd manual switches aren't working, so that's super hard to source. The double gauge diesel tank is hard to source. Original Monogram kits are unavailable (but I am told similar lookalikes can be procured), DASHBOARD LIGHTS (oh how I look for you long and far, but you escape me).

Due to the fewer numbers and years, this car was sold in, spares are rare. However I feel had I acquired one 10 years ago, it would be easier. I have met dealers who had thrown them 10 odd years ago due to no demand.

Also during this journey, I have come to realise you may have to visit the same shops over and over again, and mere phone calls don't help. Some of these guys are erratic, it is only when they meet you in person they may be willing to put in the effort.
