Hello my fellow countrymen and offroaders across the pond. Sorry have not posted in a while, been busy with work etc. This year I plan on doing a lot more offroad trips with my Jeep. I have already done one this year; will start another thread with pictures.
For those who may not have seen my 2006 Jeep Rubicon thread can probably search it. Also I have been busy introducing more traditional Indian families to offroad world here in US. So far two this year.

In the mean time I wanted to share some good news. I made some changes in my fleet. I sold my old Diesel 4x4 truck and my 2012 VW diesel Passat. To replace both I bought a brand new 2013 Ford F250 4x4 diesel truck.
Some Specs:
6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel
Horsepower - 400 @ 2800 rpm
Torque - 800 @ 1600 rpm
6-speed automatic transmission
You can check the below link out for more info if you are interested

While this is a good offroad capable truck that is not the primary reason I bought the truck. I tow my Jeep on a trailer with this truck and make sure my family travels in comfort on long trips.

Here are few pictures for everyone.

Wow!! Thats one massive beast! 800 Nm of torque. Crazy :)

Congrats on your buy Gujarati! Your truck looks awesome. Have many many happy miles with it.

Hey, nice rig you got there! Do keep a close watch on your EGT's and I guess installing a gauge to monitor the same should be a great modification to begin with. Wish You Happy Hauling!

Congrats on your TRUCK!
I am just wondering how many mouths would open flat down to the ground and how many would bang themselves against random objects on the street on seeing this in India !
Its monstrous! I had read about it over the net somewhere.
Correct me if I am wrong. It weighs around 3.5-4 tonnes, right?

Congrats Guju bhai on ur Truck !!! :thumbs up

Any reasons of opting this over the F150 (or even the F150 raptor)

In my old 2002 7.3L diesel truck I had to install the Boost, Pyro/EGT and transmission gauges to keep an eye on everything.
But on this one everything is built into the fancy cluster you see. It has digital read outs for EGTs. It is amazing the way they have built these trucks. On my old truck I could do many repairs myself this one would be very hard to do that.

Yes I agree that is a massive truck even based on US standards. But it drives/handles great and incredibly fun to drive.

I have always wondered how would it be to own such a large truck in India. But every time conclusion is same, even if I could afford to import something like this in India, I would have no room to drive or park that thing anywhere.

Thanks Karan. F150 is a much smaller truck. Much less towing capacity. Lot weaker suspension system, does not come with solid front axle. And most importantly does not come with a diesel engine.:D
Raptor is a great go fast truck but at the end of the day it is just a sports truck like a sports car not really a tow truck. All the above reasons also applies to Raptor.

On the other hand everything about Ford Super Duty trucks is super duty. You can check out the specs on the link I posted in the first post. You can also check out the specs on the various F150

Congrats on this buy! Amazing piece of machinery. Was at a ford dealer couple of months back and this can seat 5 really tall and huge guys in absolute comfort for sure. Any mods planned on this or maintaining it in total stock condition?

Congratulations friend for your new buy and wish you many more happy miles on it, I am aware of your JEEP thread and used to follow it regularly, good that you retained her. Good that you are introducing fellow countrymen to off road course and wish you good luck all the way.

400 Horses ! Can you chip this to eek out something more? I think the GMC's are humbled by this monster. And could i ask.. "kitna deti hai"

800 lb-ft doesn't really mean anything to me, but when I converted it to Kg-m and saw it's 110.60396351930116 :Shockked:

I guess that is literally "enough torque to pull tree stumps from the ground."

Yes you can chip it and you can get probably 550 HP without major modifications. I currently do not have any plans of doing it as I have no use for that kind of power right now.

Kitna Deti Hai: It gives lot of pleasure to drive the truck:D......average miles per gallon this is a monster truck so I am not expecting much. I only have 50 miles on it so I don't know how much my truck is going to give. My friends who own similar trucks say they get about 16 mpgs in mixed city and close to 20 on highway. So that is about 6 km per liter in city and 7.5 on highway I guess.

Sweeeet ride there! Ford's lineup of trucks is probably the most popular here, with Ram probably next in line?
16mpg is not bad at all for a beast this size.

Congrats!!Heck of a ride.
We have a very active 4x4 club here, Come sunday there are so many slush covered Ford F250s..

My very first upgrade at 60 miles on the odo had to be Bilstein shocks. I cannot believe the crappy shocks Ford has put on the these trucks. Being so close to 4Wheelparts warehouse has a distinct advantage. Quick run to the store and I have 4 new Bilstein shocks. Just like going to go pick up a loaf of bread from corner store.lol: As always best price you can find anywhere online and no waiting. Talk about instant gratification.

Unfortunately I had to take my little one to doctor's appointment so was only able to install the rears on. The front will go on tomorrow. What a giant difference even putting the rears made.

That is one mean looking monster you have got yourself... clap:

6 kmpl in the city is still good considering the fact that the monster has a huge engine. My Endeavour with a puny (when compared to your engine) 158 bhp 3.0 Litre engine returns only 8 kmpl in the city.

Is there such a vast different in ride by just by changing over to Bilstein shocks? Ford, are you listening?:deadhorse
