Yeah i got a quote for 4900/- here in Pune. Did you fit MT, HT or AT version? On the website i can see both MT and HT versions.

I have fit Geo AT. The website is confusing.

Yoko Geo 215/75 AT in mumbai, dealers will quote 4800. Ask for a buyback on old tyres. your final price per tyre should be around 4300. Negotiate well with them. they will give in.

Any suggestions between Yoko Geo 215/75 and Michelin Latitude cross 215/75 ? Also is the Michelin way more expensive than the Yoko Geo ?

The Michelins are a a couple thousand rupees more than the Yoko's IIRC..

If you want to more on-road comfort, go for Michelins.
If you want more off-road reliability (wrt punctures n all), go for Yoko's.
If you want most off-road reliability, go for BFG's!

I've used Michelins extensively in offroad and have found no disadvantage!! Yes they are expensive, but worth every penny!

BFGs are softer and flex better than the Michelins.

No experience with Yokos though!!

Most Karnataka offroaders would find it otherwise because of the local terrain. BFG is useless in mud, while the self cleaning Yoko AT-S performs superbly in mud. BFG looks much better than Yoko, yet most of us end up buying for Yokos. In the Sharavathy OTR, except for Sreeni who had Michelin LTX AT, everybody else was running Yoko AT-S. If somebody wants better, MT is the way to go.

I was of the impression that the Michelins go flat relatively more often than the BFG's/Yoko's..

And ya - I've actually noticed that the lack of self cleaning tread in the BFG's, is quite a hindrance in slush - thanks for pointing it out.. My bad..

In Bombay, other than the monsoons, the terrain is dusty, than anything else.. Dusty and dry..
I'm referring to places like Sawarsi, Lonavla, and Mahape..

Michelin's offroad reputation was made in LTX AT, which is not available any more. The new LTX AT2 is more of a HT tyre than AT tyre. I have that on my GV.

28-30 on the road depending on the weight of your vehicle. Offroad depends. Generally 22. Can go down to 18 in muck and 12-15 in sand.

To all tyre Gurus:
I will have to change the tyres on my FJ cruiser early next year. The problem is that there are not many choices available inn 275/ 70/ 16

As those of you who have read my thread will know that I had a small hiccup at Navsari and had to purchase a tyre 235/ 70 R16 which I have recently exchanged for a 275/70/16 Michelin LTX AT. This tyre Michelin is a 2008 and as I will be using it just as a spare I did the exchange. I wanted to buy Michelin Latitude Cross but they are not available due to some import restriction for the time being.

Now coming to my main query. The other 4 tyres are of 2005 manufacturing year and have about 10k to max 15 k kms of life left in them. So as I have time what brand and type of tyre should be the most optimal replacement the vehicle.
