Hi Santosh,

The electronic switch costs ~1000 bucks, and the oil pressure warning light is free.

Please see..

Damn!!.. . The added advantage of this system is that its safer than the old manual oil pressure into the cabin method. As, in any case, there is a leak or the pipe ruptures, you will have hot oil all over you. With the added risk of catching fire.

Right now, I will not be changing to the newer system, but gradually will...

Few clamps in platform, few bungee cords can save your things from flying, this is very useful in OTRs,

Re: Easy, Fun, Cheap & Creative Mods for 4x4 vehicles

Since there isn't a dedicated thread on offroad recovery gear, i'm posting this here.

I've been a big fan of para cord and always have it in all my cars.

Paracord is basically what is used in parachutes and has a breaking point of approximately 130kgs. Thus, this thin piece of string, though lightweight, is extremely strong.

It has multiple uses when you are offroad and is available fairly cheap.

Carrying the 100ft of paracord at times is messy. Either you bag it or tie it with zip ties else it runs the risk of getting entangled.

Being a holiday, i tried something different.

Had an old tire spray container lying around which was empty.

Carefully i cut the bottom off (make sure it's not pressurised else you could land up in a disaster).

Wind the paracord around a piece of aluminium lying around and inserted it. Extruded the tip from the nozzle. Taped the bottom back with duct tape and viola, a ready to use paracord dispenser that's easy to store. Stick a razor blade inside the plastic cover with masking tape.
