Lovely pictures Rudra; a very interesting mix of 4x4s getting into the action. A treat to go through the visuals and reports

And that would be me. Venky and my '59 Willy's CJ3B. I have been silently trawling T-BHP for a few years now and I really have not stuck my hand up. Have been a part of Jeep Thrills for over a few years now. This has been my first OTR this year after the Coorg OTR early in Jan this year. Long hiatus after.

Well, what better way to do it that this way. Nice intro I hope

"Woooooooo, I have NDMS tyres...whoooooooo, everybody make way for Venky"

I had fun getting stuck 4 times. The first two times were because I "volunteered" to steer Dwarka's trail finding skills...and the first swamp almost swallowed us and got towed out by the big daddy patrol.

The second one was in the midst of tall grass, which hid the muck and gently drew us in. Towed by Hrish thota of the Safari.

Thirdly was this moment you see here. Felt like an idiot after asking Kittu not to screw it up.

and the last was this one:
Attachment 79446

again towed by Hrish. Mr Khan and I found another spot just off the a$$ lake (for want of a better term, after we all washed up,. we found out that this was the local sewerage for the village close by). This was nice and where one of the gypsies kind of lost a leg up. Both Khan and I gleamed at first and went for it, but we both could not make it up the tougher section (any pictures of this guys?). But we did take the easy way out.

Sometimes, Mother Nature just likes to toy with us Looking forward to the next OTR! Cheers!

Rudra Sen, That's the point. Getting struck and getting pulled out.

The B-willys didn't come in this one. He had instead brought the Nissan Patrol. :-)

Venky, That 'Hrish Thota' is from the barcamp/filmcamp man. The one with us is a different Hrishi.

Here are 2 of the pics. Courtesy Dwaraka. This near vertical wall climb should be possible man. Just a weeee bit more GC and one would be through :-)

But this can damage a lot also -- as our friend in the other Gypsy found out.

Bangalore OTR: Off Sarjapur Raod: 14th Dec 2008. Wana Join?-image_304.jpg

In this one, the rear 2 wheels were in the air and the Gypsy sitting on the chasis. No way it could go forward from here.

Oops! My apologies! This is what happens when you are a part of too many clubs and activities. I still owe Hrag (better to use the nicks) for the tows and the "coolings" cheers:

For sure. Actually one of the other pictures - if you notice this one

Picasa Web Albums - Dwarakanath - chudemahalliO...

I was almost over the top but actually needed a wee bit more HP...something I plan to work over this week with my 3B.

thank heavens you stopped just in time and your gypsy was sitting on its chassis - and was angled just enough to roll you back without much of a scrape.

Cos I guess it belongs to the TTK group. Its an amazing vehicle with a bar at the rear. Had sampled it at the TPC 07. If I'm not mistaken, its a 4.2 V8..

Sigh! Have a 4x4 in India, never make it to off-road meets. Have no 4x4 here, always make it to off-road meets.

Life is cruel. Time to buy that Defender or join you guys in the slushfest.
