Re: Report: The 2014 Rain Forest Challenge @ Goa

Fantastic report Samurai. This is easily my favourite thread on the forum at the moment. The Rainforest Challenge will definitely raise the bar when in comes to extreme off-roading in India.
About the regularisation of custom vehicles, we'll have to see what happens when the new bill is passed.

Thanks Shibu, feel free to add more pics. I too like to see what all I missed.

And people who were in Twilight Zone, please do post your experiences and pics from that stage.

Hi Manjunath,

My effort is nothing compared to what you and your brother pulled off at RFC. Truly amazing co-ordination and dedication from you guys to make this happen.

The entire Terminator Stage happened on your land, am I right?

Re: Report: The 2014 Rain Forest Challenge @ Goa

Amazing write up with relevant videos and pics. Surely RFC has taken the Offroad scene to the next level. Would love to know who prepared the Leading Gurkha. If it were prepared by the factory team, then it speaks volumes of what this platform is capable of. This will definitely give Thar a run for their money.

Re: Report: The 2014 Rain Forest Challenge @ Goa

Now that's what I call Off Roading. What is even more amazing is being able to do all this with about 100bhp, 200nm specification vehicles. Incredible stuff.

Though I know nothing about off road driving, I am thrilled to see a Suzuki Gypsy still being able to tackle the worst possible terrain. Big fan of this vehicle.

Re: Report: The 2014 Rain Forest Challenge @ Goa

If no vehicle is able to do a terrain then does it not mean that organizers made a wrong decision?

The objective of an off-road event should be to judge the vehicle & team's capability compared to others but if no one is able to do such an elaborate stage then that defeats the purpose of competition altogether.

Re: Report: The 2014 Rain Forest Challenge @ Goa

First thing I noticed in this Landy is the use of a Line Lock. It reminded me of my experiment here.

Glad to see something so simple is used on the most demanding of terrains...

Sharath - As usual, your report makes readers feel as if they were right there next to you on the trail... Kudos!
