Re: Jungle Mount OTR in Kakkabe, Coorg Event report:
We had around 45 vehicles attending the event. The event had 3-4 river crossing passing through amazing landscapes of the coffee estates and around 5 hill climbs and a slush fest!!! totally comprising of 24 kms of 4 wheel drive.
Since the rains had subsided for a day or two most of the vehicle did not face the slippery wrath of the terrain much. And we as the organizers did not want our participants to end up pushing their machines to the breaking point, as the terrain of the last year saw only a handful of vehicles making it through the whole trail. (this explains the monstrous winch)
This year also they was a very steep decline where around 4 gypsies damaged their under bodies, steering broken , bumper bent to extent where the wheels got jammed. So the marshals had to take a call asking the participant to either take the risk or move through the alternate route.
Off all we had a good event, with no causalities and rains playing their part to join the event at the later stage.
The finale of the trail was the slush fest, where the participants throttled their machines to the core to give everyone a mud bath including the spectators. Machines with MT's had a real good showoff, compared to the others. Some got struck, some got winched and some burnt their clutches .
Marking the end of the event was a presentation part where we distributed trophies to the Most daring driver, Best of the lot, Amazing father/Son duo and then mementos to all the drivers/co drivers. (followed by diner and heavy rains )
PS: I am collating the pics and the videos, till then I am hijacking few videos and pics of a participant - Vishnu
