Maruti Suzuki has showcased its first Concept EV, the e-Survivor at Auto Expo 2018. The company intends to show its commitment to help develop the entire lifecycle of EVs in India including local manufacture of components, charging infrastructure and recycling of batteries:
Front of the car features an off-road bumper with multiple towing points:
Rear of the car has a display screen and an off-road bumper with a couple of towing points:
e-Survivor has ladder frame and lightweight compact body:
LEDs in the headlamps and on the 5-slats of the front grille:

e-Survivor measures 3,460 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height:
Doors feature glass that can be turned transparent or opaque according to the user's preference:

Ground clearance is high. Axle and differential look futuristic. The car is equipped with autonomous driving capabilities, but it can also be switched to manual mode for off-road driving:
Four in-wheel electric motors control the four wheels independently. Note the portal axles with the ball joint for steering. It allows for on-the-spot turning as well:
Suzuki has used the name Rhino for its off-roaders in the past. An image of a rhinoceros is displayed on the rear screen to symbolise the connection:
Interiors feature a flat-bottom steering wheel and a spherical monitor on which the vehicle’s status and the road conditions can be checked:

The vehicle is equipped with a navigation system and a wide monitor for displaying online information and images from vehicle cameras. Smartphones and a variety of other electronic devices can be connected to the vehicle to display information on the topography, nearby vehicles, weather and more:
Side step is necessary to get into a car with such a high ground clearance. Door sills feature thin aluminium scuff plates with Suzuki branding:
