Toyota Etios facelift revealed in new spy shots

A set of spy shots revealing the front and interiors of the Toyota Etios facelift have surfaced on the Internet. The Toyota Etios facelift launch in India is expected to take place by the end of 2016.

Though the front bumper and grille of the Etios are still minutely camouflaged, it is clear from the spy shots that the Etios facelift in India will get exteriors similar to the new Toyota Etios Platinum that was launched recently in Brazil. It gets a redesigned grille, while the bumper too has been tweaked to accommodate a larger air dam and a broad blacked-out area that widens as it reaches the round fog lamps. The tail end too is expected to get a revised bumper and a chrome bar insert on the boot lid.

On the inside though, there aren't any significant changes visible. While the Etios Platinum revealed in Brazil gets an all-black dashboard, a new steering wheel, and a fully digital instrument cluster, the India-spec model spotted in the spy shots appear to retain the same dashboard and steering that is found in the current model.

Being just a cosmetic update, there won't be any changes to the mechanicals of the Etios facelift. It will continue to be offered with two engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol which produces 89 BHP and 132 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre diesel which churns out 67 BHP and 170 Nm of torque. Both these engines will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
