Rumour: Piaggio Vespa VX125 prices announced?

After announcing the upgraded version of the Vespa LX125 in the form of the VX variant a week ago, it seems like Piaggio India has now revealed the price of the Vespa VX125 variant. The scooter is priced at 65,596 rupees, ex-showroom Mumbai. This price reflects a rise of about 3 thousand rupees over the LX125 model's price tag.

At this price, the Vespa VX125 is the most expensive automatic scooter that money can buy in India. To justify the price increase, the VX125 variant of the Vespa comes with a higher level of equipment. Notably, most of the equipment seen on the VX125 model of the Vespa is already available as standard on the international-spec model.

Piaggio India has added the following features to the Vespa through the VX model,

  • 200mm front disc brake
  • Optional beige seat cover
  • Refreshed instrumentation console
  • Longer grab handle for the pillion
  • MRF Zapper tubeless tyres

The scooter is now available in two new shades: pink and blue. The maroon and black colours have been discontinued. On the VX125 model, the Vespa LX125's engine and transmission bits continue with nary a change. The engine remains the four stroke-3 valve motor displacing 125cc. This motor outputs 10.06 PS-10.6 Nm, and is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
