Maruti Suzuki Y9T spotted with enclosed loading bay

Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the commercial vehicle scene with a light commercial vehicle (codenamed Y9T). The truck has been spotted testing on our roads and at the company’s plant before. Now it has been spied with an enclosed loading bay. 

The Y9T is likely to be based on the Suzuki Carry, which is sold in global. Maruti is expected to use parts from its other budget offerings parts in the Y9T to keep its costs in check.

The Y9T is rumoured to be powered by an 800 cc, twin-cylinder diesel engine, which is rumoured to be capable of producing 35 PS. The truck is expected to have a capacity to haul 1.0 tonne of payload and will be aimed at the segment dominated by the Tata Ace and Mahindra Maxximo Plus.

While the Y9T is likely to be introduced in the market during this fiscal and if media speculations are anything to go by, it come with an ex-showroom price of over Rs. 3 lakh.
