In December, we had reported that KTM had indicated on its website that it would soon introduce the RC 390 and RC 200 in India. The Austrian manufacturer seems to have taken one more step in that direction. An image put up on the KTM RC 390 India Facebook page shows that KTM has started testing the RC 390 in India.
The RC 390 is, in essence, a full-faired version of the 390 Duke, which was unveiled at the EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition, along with the RC 200 and RC 125. It is mechanically similar to the bike on which it is based. It houses the same 373.2 cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine, which produces 43 hp. This power is sent to the rear wheel though a 6-speed transmission.
The RC 390 is distinguished from the Duke by its full fairing, new tail-frame section, shorter wheelbase, clip-on handlebars and mirrors with integrated turn-indicators. It is likely to be launched in the next fiscal and is expected to be priced higher than the 390 Duke.
