Honda to double Navi production to 1 lakh annual units

Honda 2 Wheelers is planning to increase production of the Navi by two-folds, to around 1 lakh units per annum. This information was revealed by the company's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Yadvinder Singh Guleria. The said step is being taken to meet rising demand of the scooter, which currently has a huge supply backlog throughout the country.

Honda Navi was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, while sales started in April. The automaker had publicly announced that it claims to sell around 2,000 units of the Navi per month. It had an installed production capacity of 50,000 units per annum, which was deemed more than enough, in-line with the aforementioned sales expectations.

However, the Navi has attracted a lot more sales than what its parent company had expected. Its low price, unconventional looks, and city-friendly manners have helped the automaker in selling around 9,000 units every month. This has resulted in a supply shortage for the 110cc scooter.
