Honda cuts Amaze delivery time down to 1 week

The waiting period for the Honda Amaze seems to have been cut down. Recently, Honda has been airing an advertisement on radio claiming a delivery time of just one week in Bangalore. This applies to both, the petrol as well as the diesel versions of the car. Apart from the radio promotion, some BHPians have reported very short waiting periods as well.

Based on the Brio platform, the Amaze has been a runaway success since the time it was launched in April 2013. Honda’s production capacity of 440 cars per day was not enough to match the demand for the car, causing backlogs. This resulted in waiting periods of 4-5 months for the car. In an attempt to address the problem, Honda decided to ramp up production, with the addition of a third shift at its Greater Noida factory. With this, the manufacturer planned to cut the waiting period down by 2 months.

The Amaze comes with either a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol or a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine. While the diesel is available with a manual gearbox only, the petrol is available with a choice of a manual or an automatic transmission.
