Harley-Davidson Street Rod 750 launched at Rs. 5.86 lakh

Harley-Davidson has launched the 2017 Street Rod 750 in India at a price of Rs. 5.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has been derived from the regular Street 750, which was launched in India in 2014.

While the design does get some inspiration from the Street 750, Street Rod 750 features some revised cues like a new headlamp cowl, drag-style straight handlebars and bar-end rear view mirrors. The bike features a split-seat setup, Harley's signature teardrop fuel tank and blacked out exhaust and engine block. The LED taillight is an all-new unit. The bike gets a ride height of 765 mm and 205 mm of ground clearance. It will be available in three colours: Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim and Olive Gold.

The Street Rod 750 gets beefier 43mm inverted forks at the front, with the rake angle being tightened to 27 degrees, in order to reduce the wheelbase and thus improve the bike's agility. The rear shocks get 117 mm travel, while the swingarm has been lengthened to house the taller shocks. The bike sits on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels that are shod with MRF radial tyres - 120/70 R17 M/C 58H at the front and 160/60 R17 M/C 69H at the rear. Braking setup includes a dual-piston 300 mm disc brake at the front, while Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is standard.

The Street Rod 750 is powered by a liquid-cooled, SOHC 8-valve 60° V-Twin Revolution X 749 cc engine. This engine is based on the Street 750's block, but has been reengineered & tuned differently. It gets a larger volume air box, new cylinder heads, high-lift camshafts and a higher volume exhaust muffler. The compression ratio has also been raised to 12:1 from 11:1.

Harley-Davidson claims that this tweaked engine develops 11% more power and 5% more torque, as compared to the Street 750. The company hasn’t revealed the power output figure, but peak power comes at 8,250 rpm. Meanwhile, the torque output is rated at 62 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Additionally, the engine now revs up to 9,000 rpm, as compared to the Street 750's block that redlines at 8,000 rpm.

Bookings for the Street Rod 750 have commenced, while test drives will start from April 21, 2017.
