DC Avanti deliveries start in January 2015

Good news for those who had pre-booked the DC Avanti - deliveries of the first lot of cars will commence in January 2015!

As per IndianAutosBlog, dealers are accepting fresh bookings for the DC Avanti sports car with an initial booking amount of Rs.5 lakhs. However, be ready to wait till the third quarter of 2015 for deliveries.

Back in 2012, the prices of the Avanti were likely to be in the range of Rs.25-30 lakhs. Now, in 2014, the ex-factory price of this car seems to be touching almost Rs.35 lakhs! Still it will be opening up an all new segment in that price range as it will be the most affordable two door sports car to hit the Indian roads.

The DC Avanti is a two-door, mid-engined sports car unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo. It was showcased with a 2.0 litre Ford EcoBoost engine producing 240 bhp @ 5,500 RPM and max torque of 366 Nm @ 3,500 RPM; power being transmitted to the rear wheels by a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car has been under testing for almost 2 and a half years now and only recently, the production version of the Avanti was spotted undisguised.
