2017 Hyundai Grand i10 facelift launched at Rs. 4.58 lakh

Hyundai has launched the Grand i10 facelift in India at prices starting from Rs. 4.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The diesel range starts at Rs. 5.68 lakh. This marks the first major update to the Grand i10 in India, ever since it was first launched in 2013.

With the 2017 facelift, the Grand i10 gets some cosmetic tweaks including a hexagonal front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, new fog lamp enclosures which house air curtains and LED DRLs. Rear wiper, side body moulding, roof rails and boot integrated spoiler are available on the higher variants while diamond cut alloy wheels and full wheel covers are available across different variants.

On the inside, the car comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity. The system also supports navigation and voice recognition. Other features on offer with the facelift include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, rear defogger, cooled glove box. In terms of safety, the car is equipped with rear parking camera and sensors, dual airbags and ABS.

Hyundai has also made a change in the powertrain department, with the inclusion of a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine that develops 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2,250 rpm. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims that the 2017 Grand i10 diesel can extract a fuel economy of 24.95 km/l.

Meanwhile, the petrol variants are powered by the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Kappa VTVT petrol engine that generates 82 BHP and 114 Nm of torque. This engine is offered with two transmission options: a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT. While the manual variants have a company-claimed fuel economy figure of 19.77 km/l, the automatic trim's economy is rated at 17.49 km/l.
