Power of innovation!!

Hey guys got this email yesterday thought I'll share it.
Radical new tyre design by Michelin. These tyres are scheduled to be out in the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike stirips will not work on these tyres.
This means
*no more air valves
*no more air compressors at petrol pumps
*no more flat tyres.

concept or for real??? if for real, then great.

but think about driving in india - all the hay that villagers dry on the road will now give your wheel a 'mushy' look! LOL!!!

thanks for sharing the info, tarul.

As for the looks part, it's mainly because of the exposed "spokes." I don't see what stops them from hiding them with a sidewall. Then it would look like a normal tyre.

Michelin's New See Through Tyre !

Radial new tyre design by Michelin !

These tyres are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for the U..S. Law Enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tyres.

This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:

A.No more air valves...
B.No more air compressors at gas stations...
C.No more repair kits...
D.No more flats...

SCAN DOWN & SEE...

These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin !

It's called the Tweel. Pretty interesting take on the old concept of spokes.

Very good innovation! Saw them sometime back in some auto mag too.
I guess apart from all the advantages, the ride quality must suffer!

yes a very good innovation but this news is old !!

i dont think so as i read it somewhere that these are not normal rubber ,and can absorb the shocks so ride quality will improve ..

but the price will be on higher side for sure

by d way great find

re: Tubeless Tyres? Not Enough! How about Airless -Michelin TweelTyres

"Airless tyres have been conceptualized earlier as well by other tyre biggies like Michelin, but they have generally been found unfeasible for mass production. Bridgestone claims that their tyre is meant for mass production and will soon be seen in mainstream cars."

Bridgestone shows us the future: the non-pneumatic tyre
