A drive into Bonacaud

I had been itching go into the wild for some time now, but for the ~50K JKs on my Swift Vdi. Last saturday i got it changed to Yokohama A-drive(Originally intended Michellin XM1+, but a last minute change of mind to Yokos, more details at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...ml#post1984618)

Question was, where? There are a few handful of places that can be said to be truly 'into the wild' close to Trivandrum - Ponmudi, Neyyar Dam, Peppara, Thenmala, Brymore are a few of them. Bonacaud is one of those places that we had tried twice, but never made it fully. It has a few waterfalls in the vicnity, but needs strenuos treks lasting couple of hours through jungles that are habitat to some notorious wild elephants. But the ride is worth it. I would post a few pics rather than write an essay. So here it is

Wowee!!! Lovely pictures glidealong. Especially of the spiders. Some more info about the place, directions and accomodation would be helpful. Why don't you write a travelogue??

Btw, this should be in the travelogue section.

Seems editing a post is impossible in TBHP, not sure why they won't let you edit your own post?!!!

Anyway the only way out is to create a new post with the details and ask the moderator to merge it, hmmm, keep tuned.

I have heard that Bonacaud has the famous peak, Agasthyarkoodam in the Agasthya hills. This has lot of herbs and medicinal plants.

Is this hill near resort Ponmudi as well?

That Spider shot is terrific can you through some light on how this short was taken?

Man that's not a water hole!! It's spider web itself sprayed with water (rain or dew)!

Lovely snaps glidealong ! I loved each one of them. Excellent. Looking forward to some more of them.

Wow,
Awesome pics man, really loved the pic of the first spider. Looks as if he is tearing apart the water hole and coming out of it. Really neat. Thanks for sharing. Waiting for more pics.
