1 week and 600 kms on a Mint White Palio MJD

Let me cut the story short.

I was planning to buy a hot diesel hatch and shortlisted Getz CRDI, Indica Turbo/Dicor, Swift D and Palio D.

Booked Getz CRDI from Advait and later cancelled when I realised that ICEing & ALLOYing will leave a huge hole in my wallet. In fact Getz was my first preference.

Then the choices came down to the last three. Indica too a nice car, but my brother and 2 of my friends drive the same (Turbo). Finally, the battle was between Swift and Palio. Then these questions came into my mind..
1. Why should I spend ~25k more than Palio SDX?
2. Why should I compromise on the rear seat leg room and build quality?
3. Why should I wait for an insane 4 months after making the payment?

Went thru numerous threads/posts in t-bhp, consulted many of my friends, and finally booked a Carbon Black Palio MJD SDX on 26th May from Prerana motors, Bangalore.

Just like Zaks and Jazzy, I also went thru all the hickups and hurdles and a long waiting of 2 months. In between, they called me up and told they had stopped the producton of Carbon Black. Then I saw a white MJD on road and fell in love. Prerana promised to deliver a mint white SDX by 3rd week of July.

And I took the delivery on 26th July 2008, exactly 2 months after the booking.

Changed the wheels to 14" LENSO's and Tyres to XM1+ (185/65R14) on the same day.

I just loved the refinement and power. It handles really well even on wet roads. (I blindly believed finneyp and took it for a drive on saturday on wet roads in bangalore - He told me, "u wil never feel like driving on a wet road wen u r on XM1+")

I am getting around 13-14 knpl in Bangalore city in 100% A/C.

More updates later.

Hey dude

Your vehicle looks awesome, the white color looks so good. The best of all of all is your front number plate.

Excellent Choice

Hi,
The choice of the wheels is excellent and blends too well with the car.
Are the lenso's 98PCD?

All the best with your new purchase.

Hey lovely car! how much did it cost you?

I would like to know how it performs on the hilly roads with AC on and with 4 adults??

Did take a test drive in Palio 1.6, but i guess makes sense to go for a diesel car if one intends to do lots of driving....

keep updating and enjoyyy

Good choice of the car and lovely alloys.
BTW,the two month wait for the MJD is due to demand for it or low production .
