Your favourite `War` movies.!

we have discussed car movies/car chase in movies so can we now discuss war movies?

i know i know its the festive season and this is not a pleasant topic but still i wanted to start this thread/topic as i am a big fan of such movies and i think these movies to some extent give us a glimpse of the stress/turmoil/sacrifice of the soldiers who are there in the battlefield, they are the real heroes guys so do share your thoughts.

well my list goes like this....

1.Platoon - imho the greatest war movie ever made
2.Saving private ryan - terrific actors
3.Black hawk down - took me straight into the battlefield
4.Tears of the sun - heart wrenching
5.Schindlers list - `Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire`

lets hear your favs guys

cheers
faithless

p.s - mods if this is innapropriate or has been posted earlier then please do the needfull.

I've seen these 2 movies repeatedly, and I'll still watch them any number of times:

1. Saving Private Ryan
2. Schindler's List

Havent watched many. But I watched a few and dont like them simply coz they make Americans look like heroes.

Black Hawk Down for example ---- They make it look like Americans are great. What they dont mention is that they were poking their long nose in other countries' affairs.

And other movies too (World War II) ones..... German/Italian and JApanese soldiers were just as brave and smart in war. But how many movies show this ?? Most of them deal with the Allies and the Axis soldiers are always the villains.

They may have started the war, but their soldiers also deserve a lot of credit. I get quite pissed off by war movies..... so, dont watch them

I know RAMBO isnt a war movie, but that also.... make Rambo look like the hero and the Vietnamese as the villains.
