Trishul - Made in India

Its Indian , Made in Patna.

It has a single cylinder diesel engine made by Lombardini (actually Greaves-Lombardini in India)

I also have attached the snap of the same which was took 20 years before by our fellow bhpian r_nair

The featured Thrisul is a 1983 model

it is made by TRISHUL CRAFTS AUTO LTD - sorry the address is not availiable.
Mods no issues in revealing the number plates.

I think this vehicle is very less popular and very less information is available , so gurus please throw some light to it.

Isn't this a rare car right now? I haven't heard of or seen this car ever!?

I am not able to find any mention of this in "google" either!

Any idea how many of these were manufactured?

Here is a very rare brochure scan of a Trishul, circa 1985 apparently. Picture was from a French website, more reading can be found there, link on the History of Cars in India thread.

It certainly must have set a new standard in style - not in a good way though!

Was this available in 4X4?

On a more serious note, this looks like the outcome of a tri-orgy between a CJ340, HM Trekker and the locally-made 4-wheel share-auto.

Thank you, Karl !! That was a fantastic find indeed. Kudos to you.

I think this thread is the most informative place on internet regarding this particular vehicle.

@ blue thunder a 4x4 running on a single cylinder diesel engine, that is a quite innovative thought.

Which is this car?

Saw this car at Trivandrum yesterday. Checked the MVD Kerala site and found that this is a 1983 model manufactured by Trizhul Crafts Auto Ltd, and the classification is as Motor Car and the type of body is Tourer. The engine isa single cylinder petrol.
I remember seeing the Trizhul ad long ago and a load carrier.
Can anyone throw some light.

Mods kindly move this to the following thread (which I found out late.)
