Jeremy Clarkson in the News again!!

David Marsh of the German-British Business Forum said in a letter to the corporation that "as a British person with strong links to Germany I take exception to this poisonous rubbish carried out by a publicly funded broadcasting company. Such actions are out of place in our society. It does no good for people such as Mr Clarkson to dredge up the past in crude, stereotypical fashion masquerading as outrageous humour."

"Had he made such slurs against Muslims or Jews he would probably be prosecuted. Somehow, Germany and the Germans are fair game."

Clarkson gave the salute on the programme in reference to the fact that the Oxford-built Mini was in fact owned by Germany's BMW, while suggesting that the "quintessentially German car" would have indicators that worked like a Hitler salute, a satellite navigation system that "only went to Poland", and a fan-belt that lasted 1,000 years, like the thwarted dreams of the Third Reich.

Germany has long been a butt of Clarkson's humour; in the mid-1990s he said that a senior BMW executive "looked a little like Hitler."

The BBC has responded to the forum's letter by saying that "we will investigate any complaints in the normal way."

And what about the Chrysler Crossfire. He said the back looks like a dog taking a crap. (Which is kinda true).

I guess, every one likes good humour, even on self, once in a while. Things turn nasty once he starts passing rather personal comments on air. In desi version, it is like saying you look like "Nathuram Godse" or like Jeena, which not many indians will appreciate or digest easily.

The easiest thing to do in this world is to find fault with what another person has done. Add a bit of language and call yourself an entertainer....he's pretty hollow AND shallow.

I find myself laughing at his reviews 80% of the time, and being absolutely horrified and angry the other.

But come on, the world would be a duller place wihtout a Jeremy Clarkson to liven things up........

The thing that people take him a bit to seriously is also true. If suppose someone like Karl Brauer (from edmunds) or Andrew Frankel (from Times) or anyone else like them make comments like him, will they get the same harsh reactions? Sometimes I think that people assume whatever Jezza says is wrong or racist or biased etc just because HE said it. But there are some things that just have to be said, and only JC can do it. (And get away with it).
