Skoda's Vision Concepts

Skoda's launched its Vision D sometime ago showcasing the new design language which found its way into the new Octavia, the new Superb, the new (yet to be launched in India) Rapid and the new (yet to be launched in India) Yeti.

Skoda has now launched Vision C which is the design language for its new upmarket models expected sometime in 2016. These new models will have its world premiere next week at the Geneva motor show.

The models are still undergoing the final stages of design development at the company’s design centre at Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic. While the basic silhouette and five door liftback layout is expected to be brought over into production with little or no change, the detailing and rear end will be further refined.

The range of engines will be from 1.4 to 2.0 ltr but the exciting news for us petrolheads is the expected 280 hp turbocharged 2.0 ltr which will form the basis for a revised line of Skoda vRS models!

Beautiful shape and aerodynamic look.
I love the concept's green apple inspired colour too.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

Skoda could have done better, front + side profile is Audi S7. Rear is Toyota FT-1

Increasingly, I am finding Skoda, VW and Audi cars beginning to look similar to each other. Since they are all owned by the same parent company, it reeks of cost optimisation. If you look at the new Jetta from the back, you can mistake it for an A4.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

Although its early days, judging from current trends, Vision C could make it to India by 2017.

The colour green is probably a hark back to their earlier logo. Their WRC cars are also in a shade of green. Although there is a question as to why as the current logo is devoid of green.

Probably because green is fashionable these days.

I doubt such extreme tucks and creases will make it to production. These will require very expensive tooling, as stamping a panel with such acute corners is next to impossible. Also, the probability of defects are also huge.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

I am absolutely sold on this design language.
@sasi405 i think if you look closely the sharp edges below the tail section and headlight section are additional plastic/fibre pieces or part of bumper. its very much possible. But yes rarely the design concepts get carried as is to production. I wish this design language does get carried over as is.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

I feel that this is a bit too overdone. Skoda took too much design cues from Lamborghinis. The Vision C concept lacks the the simplicity fo the original Skoda design language like the new Octavia.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

The new Superb should have a lot of touches from the new design language. There will also be a new coupe based on Vision C. The new Superb should be in India by late 2016 / 2017. Not much changes in engines other than an uprated 2.0 diesel with 170 bhp.

re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

Skoda Vision X concept teased again, design study to feature brand-first hybrid tech.

The Skoda Vision X will be revealed in full at the Geneva motor show next week, and is expected to preview a new crossover model to sit below the Karoq – likely sharing its underpinnings with the Audi Q2 and Volkswagen T-Roc.

Re: Skoda's Vision Concepts

Skoda unveils the Vision X Crossover Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Previews a small crossover.

Likely to be called ANUQ or AMIQ. Sibling rivalry to Seat's ARONA and VW's T ROC!

The show car also uses compressed natural gas (CNG) as a potentially cleaner fuel and features a mild-hybrid powertrain designed to offer four-wheel drive and limited pure-electric running.

The Vision X - which is expected to reach production in 2019.
