Suzuki has introduced the A:Wind concept today at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013. The A-segment hatchback concept serves as a preview for a production model due sometime next year and has the following dimensions:

3600mm length,
1600mm width
and 1540mm height,
with a 2425mm wheelbase.

The front-wheel drive vehicle rides on 16-inch alloys shod in 185/55 R16 and is powered by a small 996cc gasoline engine sending power through a CVT.

The Suzuki A:Wind concept wears an Energy Yellow exterior paint scheme and has an overall pleasant design with an interesting front grille that has two chrome bars stretching inside the headlights. The two-tone cabin looks functional and simple without being cheap and provides a considerable amount of rear legroom as a result of increasing the space between the front and rear seats.

This is the new A-Star replacement. And with 1600mm width, it is built on the same A-Star platform, I guess

Looks , however, I hope they do not ruin the production version. I believe the petrol engine is the same as the one on Wagon-R, Alto K-10 & A-Star.

ACI gallery has images of the interiors as well:

Suzuki/Maruti seem to be on the right track. The length has been increased by 10cm and height by 5cm. Hopefully it should handle similar to the A-Star. It looks a lot like the Alto 800 though (bad).

Highly doubtful.

I loved the cabin, though I don't like the console mounted gear lever. A black+gold dual tone interior as an option would be awesome!

EDIT:

Saw the blue interiors, looks horrible! Though the blue meters are nice. Dash mounted tacho is missed, so are the bottle holders ahead of the gear lever, which in these (ACI) pics is back where it belongs.

Suzuki unveils A-Wind, an all new hatchback in Thailand

Suzuki unveils an all new hatchback in Thailand International Motor Expo 2013. This all new hatchback is called Suzuki A-Wind. Looks like this model is going to replace Suzuki A-Star and Estilo. It measures 3,600mm in length, 1,600mm in width and 1,540mm in height. A-Wind will come from a 1-liter petrol engine sending power to the front via a CVT gearbox. Some images have been given here. More images are available at source

Looks like a cute little car.

Note to mods:- Checked for similar thread, but did not find one. If it's already there, please merge.

A small hatch with CVT/AT. Should be a hit with the working women if they launch it in India. The cheapest AT option.

re: Suzuki unveils A-Wind Concept, an all-new hatchback in Thailand

The front looks like current variant of Suzuki A-Star and from the rear it resembles to Nissan Go. Somehow the styling looks bit overdone considering it an entry level hatchback.

re: Suzuki unveils A-Wind Concept, an all-new hatchback in Thailand

Not exactly a small hatch. Almost B segment dimensions
The concept hatch is 3600mm long, 1600mm wide and 1540mm high and has got a 2425mm long wheelbase. The concept rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R16 tyres. Power comes from a 996cc 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox.

Details here.

What is unveiled is a concept. This A-segment hatchback concept serves as a preview for a production model due sometime next year
What is quite indigestible is www.worldcarfans mentions the car will ride on 16-inch alloys shod in 185/55 R16 rubber.

Way better than the current A-star/Estillo - if maruti can get a winner to replace these, they are surely on the right path!

Curious: Why a concept like this one? What exactly would it serve, being introduced as a concept.
