3rd J&K Bank Mughal Rally. EDIT : Passiontodrive suffers fatal accident

Anyone participating in Raid De Himalaya 2012 for the first time, come and feel the terrain in this two day event called "3rd J&K Bank Mughal Rally"

Rally Dates: 29th June Scrutiny (Srinagar)
Day 1: 30th June (Srinagar to Jammu)
Day 2: 1st July (Jammu to Srinagar)

Early Entry Fee is Rs. 20,000/- (only few slots left). Last day for early entry is 15th May.

I have already paid in Enduro Category. (Last year incurred some early penalities, finished 7th)

This is my first rally after I shifted to Bangalore so it is good to have some friends from here.

Similarities between Mughal Rally and Raid De Himalaya.

1. Same Organisers.
2. Almost same kind of tracks.
3. Same format. (TSD and Extreme).
4. Same Rules and Regulations.
5. Almost same but lesser preparations.
6. Same Documentation.

When you have everything in place like Vehicle, Documents etc. then you should also try your luck or practice in Mughal Rally.

Raid is a very very big event with 6 Days of competition, but Mughal Rally is like practice run for all the newbies. Just two days of competition.

For more details please refer to official website:
www.xplorearth.com

Hope to see some more bhpians.
Cheers

It's (TSD i.e.) probably not going to as car breaking as the 1st two editions, J&K govt seem to be tarring most of the sections. We crossed Sinthan pass last Raid and one side was already tarmac. Apparently they have tarred the other side too.

True, Mughal is the short sweet version. Wish I could come!

Please try and attend KMSC Round II on the 27th. Good practice and you'll probably meet all the folks from Bangalore who are going to Mughal..

@oldmonk: One side of Sinthan was tarmac three years back too. So do not expect so much progress - but surprises never cease. And cold winter, snow melt & landslides take toll of best laid tarmac.

Yes it is interesting rally to participate in.

@passiontodrive : Take up oldmonks offer and meet up people in Bangalore.

KMSC conducts a TSD championship (3-5 rounds of 1 day events for both 2W and 4W) in Bangalore every year. Each round usually starts in Hockey Club (Langford Town) and goes for about 100km.

This year, 1st round was in March and 2nd round is on 27th May. Entry fee is 1-2k per car.

Only spot registrations. Person to call is Mr. Naveen @ 9845195010.

All the best!

Sad news indeed. Knew Jatinder - Passiontodrive for last couple of years. OldMonk, who was also in the Mughal Rally, was really shakenup by this turn of events.

I had interacted with Jeetu through Team-BHP on some threads and the common connection being Auto Attitudes where he got his Gypsy done and I got my Esteem for Desert Storm. But hearing of his tragic loss has left a void.
RIP Jeetu. My god give strength to his family in this hour of tragedy.

re: 3rd J&K Bank Mughal Rally. EDIT : Passiontodrive suffers fatal accident

I had the pleasure of meeting Jatinder twice , first in the raid 2010 where he was a participant in the endure class and after that in the SJOBA rally 2011 where he navigated Amanpreet.

Great Guy , had lots of enthusiasm for the sport, though i am slightly unclear about the actual sequence of events that led to the accident with various versions floating around.

But once again the participants need to be very careful and observe all safety precautions as advised by the organizers because rallying , specially in the hilly terrain can be very dangerous.

RIP Jatinder aka Passiontodrive

Just had a word with Amanpreet, apparently he missed a turn and the gypsy rolled down about 600 feet. Jeetu's body was found some distance from the gypsy. can't say what went wrong. he shud have been strapped in his seat. the navigator, Ashish who was a first timer was found in his seat.....any which way sad news.... me Aman n Jeetu shared the same room during Sjoba 2011, can't believe this

RIP Jatinder. It was a pleasure meeting you during SJOBA 2011. You allowed my son to sit in your gypsy and get photos clicked. Met you first at the Tirlokpuri check post. You were a kind soul. You passed away doing what you loved. My God give strength to your family to bear this irreparable loss.
