Honda Cars India recalls 90,210 diesel variants of City, Mobilio

Honda Cars India on Thursday announced a recall of 64,428 units of diesel variants of Honda City manufactured from December 2013 to July 2015 and 25,782 units of diesel variants of Honda Mobilio manufactured from June 2014 to July 2015 to voluntary replace the Fuel Return Pipe of these vehicles

Quote:
There is a possibility that in some of these cars, the Fuel Return Pipe may come out, resulting in fuel leakage and leading to engine stoppage, Honda Cars India said in a statement. The Fuel Return Pipe and related parts will be replaced free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India from 19th December 2015 in a phased manner and the owners will be contacted individually

The customers alternatively can also check whether their car is covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special micro site which has been created on the company's website.

Wow. Another recall from Honda. How come there is no impact on Amaze diesel? AFAIK, Amaze shares the platform of Mobilio and the heart of both City and Mobilio?

Happy to see recalls been made to correct issues, which is the result of continuous R&D on existing products.

I think the Amaze is not listed because it may not be sharing similar fuel pipelines/ connections. However, in my opinion, Amaze owners should also keep a continuous eye on the honda website to check if they are also called for replacement later. Going by Honda's recall pattern.

Just wondering, does it have anything similar to VW cheat case? Hope not

Same thoughts here as well. If the problem is with fuel return pipe, is it not shared with petrol engine as well?
Just wild thoughts. Guess can be dismissed

Though the quality in Honda cars have came down I will still not believe that they can be involved in cheating like VW. I hope this faith of mine sustains.

Btw, Whoever gets to do this replacement first kindly update with the procedure and total time taken. Thanks.

If they just change the pipe in front of the customer then they are true. Even they even get a ECU scanner/updater near the car on any pretext of resetting etc they are clearly doing a fraud, may be bigger than VW
