Audi launched the face-lifted Audi A4 earlier today.

Also is the 3.0TDI CBU or CKD? And if CBU then is it there only to fill the price lists or does Audi India plan to stock few ?

First of all congrats buddy you predicted the correct launch time.According to bsmotoring website the 3.0 is a CBU.
Also can't find the reason why Audi dropped the 2.0 TFSI version.Maybe because Q3 will be using it.
But what I don't understand is why Audi got the same diesel engine again?I think the petrol version is a better buy at this point.What do you think?

Gosh, the car looks so good! I'm a huge fan of Audi's super clean design lines. Here's hoping they never go down the quirky road (a la Mercedes).

But I'm disappointed with the 2.0L diesel getting the very lazy CVT box. It feels so damn unresponsive! It's ironical that the cheaper Laura, Jetta, Passat, Superb etc. get the far superior DSG gearbox.

Good timing by Audi. The new 3 series is just around the corner.

Yeah and the same engines from the laura's price range doing the duty in A4.
The 3 series comes with a healthy 184 PS.
If one were to go purely by the specifications and not consider the audi snob value, what extra is the enthusiast getting ?

The facelift seems to look better than I thought, though I still think the previous one looked more aggressive. Nice rims on the car too.

The 2.0t was 185bhp, and not the 210bhp. So with the 1.8t now bumped up to 170bhp with 320nm of torque which is the same figure the old 2.0t had I think it made for sense for them to sell this engine. Also the 3.2 is discontinued internationally, and the 3.0t is now sold in the A4. But they are probably keeping that engine for the S4 with 333bhp rather than launching it in the A4 with 270 odd bhp.

Also as for the 2.0tdi, what is Audi thinking? 140bhp is underpowered for a car like that, and they have lost many buyers simply because of the low powered 2.0tdi while the 3.0tdi being a CBU will be almost 50l otr. CVT again

Also good to see them offering full MMI which is not on the centre console and the high res screen I think.

Doesn't the 2.0L diesel churn out 170 bhp in the Passat? Why is the A4 only doing 140 then?

Again, 2.0 TDI is only good for 143 BHP!
Why is Audi continuing with this tune in the new A4 when its sister brand VW offers the Passat with the 170 BHP tune on the same engine. This (140 BHP) is the same tune that is used in the Jetta and the DSG Laura, IIRC, which are a whole segment as well as a brand lower than an Audi A4.
Even the A4's competitors offer base diesel engines with at least 160 HP (Volvo S60 D3). Is the engine that good in terms of drivability that it can mask the power deficit when compared to its competitors?

Ditto GTO, CVT is a big let down. After several test drives, this is the only factor which pushed me towards BMW and I ended up buying 320d bimmer. I was really hoping they would add a capable auto and help enthusiasts like me go in for A4 2.0 TDI.

The new A4 looks damn good, much better than the previous one. The CVT and the under powered engine is a disappointment but the 2.0 TDi seems VFM.

Waiting for BMW to heat up the competition!
