Truck Sales in India - Nov 2010

Dear All,

Categorization in CV Industry:

Unlike SIAM, internationally and in many companies in India, CV companies classify goods carriers which are having GVW >5t as Trucks and those having <5t are classified as Mini Trucks, Pickups (If they are Jeep type) and 3 Wheelers (if the carrier is having 3 Wheels)

Similarly, >5t Passenger Carriers are called Buses and less than 5t Passenger Carriers are called Commercial Vans or Mini Vans depending on type of vehicle

To avoid confusion like last time, where people cited different figures because of press released of carious companies, I would like to make it clear that these are domestic sales for trucks (>5t GVW) only and do not include buses and exports

It's nit that the new launch of U Trucks has not helped the company but the product is facing a shortage. Actually it's a tricky move as the company is leapfrogging technology and at the same time carrying old legacy. I hope trying to put your feet in two boars at the same time should not result in a drowning situation for the company.
