A first-class event at the High Museum called “The Allure of the Automobile” showcases some the most brilliantly designed and rarest cars in the world. I was lucky enough to see some of the most extraordinary and stylistic collection of cars ever put together anywhere on earth.
Allure of the Automobile covers a period of time from the 1930’s to the 1960’s considered to be the golden age of cars. Director of the High Museum Michael Shapiro was on hand to provide insight and information on the style, fashion, and history of the custom built motorcars. The 1935 Duesenberg JN Roadster formally owned by Clark Gable is just one of example of the many fine masterpieces of engineering and design that went into creating this “rolling sculpture”.
lots more to come...keep watching !!

the most beautiful design element on this car has to be the rear window. its just so different
Really amazing car 14000rpm. Thank you for the wonderful photos. What a body style. Cannot imagine driving this car in India without massive side mirrors

Clark Gable seemed to have a fascination for rear mounted covered stepney. Both the Dusenberg and Packard have the rear mounted covered stepney with a double & single variation.
Another interesting thing I noticed was the hood ornament on the Packard. Looks like Studebaker introduced a similar one (longer) in the Commander in the later 50's.
All the cars seen so far are really outstanding in their uniqueness.
Waiting to see the best car of the show. Going by the poster in the first post, I am sure it will outstanding.
