I would accept your appreciation with utmost modesty. It is more due to nature itself than my representation of it.

As mentioned in the first post itself, the photos that I have put in are all from my HTC P3400i mobile phone (2MP) taken at 1MP resolution. I use this as the resultant file sizes are small, easy to transfer to my laptop and is always with me.

The photos that you have pointed out have come out extra nice through absolutely no effort of mine!

The houseboat picture is easily the best i guess, due to the contrast in the colours.awesome thread.i did travel on this road some 10years back(the only time that I got to come to that part of the country and I just loved it and i keep telling people the interconnecting road from A to C(never knew it was called SH11 until now)is one of the most scenic roads in kerala.

Btw,your daughter goes to a school with a lovely building and a lovely campus..lucky her.its something that is so very rare to find now a days.

These fellas are called varaaal and they are yummuy when cooked properly , the houseboats use a homemade masala to prepare them and the very thought is mouth watering ! You would find these being offered to you as you drive along.

The road is most popularly known as AC Road (Alleppey - Changanacherry or Alappuzha - Changanassery road) and SH11 is the official name (State Highway 11).

This cuts across the small rivers / canals that flow through these parts and had 3 ferries until some years back.

This is the third year here, as she joined here only from her eighth onwards and she is in tenth now.

The school photo is actually of the back of the school.

This is what students get to see when they come out of the back for leaving the school premises.

This is the view from the first floor towards the front of the school.

You can see an untarred lane through that gate. There is a canal after that road. Students do come in small row boats to the school. You can also see a foot overbridge spanning the canal.

These are photos taken on a phone cam, don't remember which one though!

I liked these snaps.especially the flat green endless paddy field planes.in many parts of kerala, these fields are levelled to road level and occupied as home space and shops.or used as tapioca/pineapple fields. this has happened more in midland towns ,where flat lands are at a premium.

Off SH11

Hi,

Today while going to Changanacherry, my supervisor had some work in a school at Kidanagara. So at Kidangara, we took a left and reached the school. Since he needed some time there, I was to go alone.

I just switched on the Navigator and set it to navigate me to my shop there. I followed it blindly to reach wehre I wanted to go.

These were shot in that stretch:

Nice pictures, Rajesh Sir. SH11 is one of the more scenic routes in Kerala & it seems you are enjoying every ride on it. More pictures, please!

Awesome scenaries. Can you try to get some pics during sunsets especially near the river, that would be a real awesome one?

Thanks. My vehicles per se have to travel that route (at least part of it) twice daily to drop / pick my daughter from school. Sometimes it is my turn to do the driving. If I can click more, I will.

First of all, I take pictures when I am on that road and I don't drive there to get pictures. Then the equipment that I use has its limitations and I am not very sure how sunsets are going to be captured.

Will sure try if I can.

Rajesh Sir, amazing photos. Especially liked the one during rains. Alappuzha looks really beautiful during monsoons.

This road is definitely in my list when I am in Kerala next time.

Thanks.

It is a beautiful stretch and is straight for almost all the distance except for 3 or 4 curves. I have not explored most of the side roads except a couple which should yield more good pictures!
